Cooking Instructions for Palak Paneer Recipe

Step 1: Blanch the Spinach

  • Start by blanching the spinach (wash it thoroughly). Boil water in a big vessel and add spinach leaves to it and boil for about 2 minutes. After the spinach is boiled, filter it and immediately put it in ice cold water. This helps maintain the vibrant green color. Grind boiled spinach and make a smooth paste.

Step 2: Sauté the Paneer

  • Heat some oil in a separate pan and fry the paneer pieces until they turn golden. After frying, keep them aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Curry

  • Add more oil in the same pan if necessary. Add cumin, chopped onion, minced garlic, ginger and green chilli. Fry until onion becomes transparent.

Step 4: Spice It Up

  • Add turmeric, coriander powder, red chili powder, and garam masala to the sautéed mixture. Stir well to roast the spices until the oil starts to separate.

Step 5: Add Tomatoes and Spinach

  •  Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft and oil separates. Then, add spinach puree and mix well.

Step 6: Add Cream and Paneer

  • Add thick cream, if you don't have cream then you can use milk and add it to the drizzled masala and stir. Add the roasted paneer pieces and let them boil for a few minutes. Adjust salt and spices to taste.
